We print large format and over-size graphics of all types on self-adhesive vinyl, scrim banner material or just about any other flexible substrate.  For large murals, tractor-trailers and other over-size graphics, we typically print in “wallpaper fashion,” with each consecutive sheet or vertical panel (typically 50” to 60” wide) overlapping the previous panel by ½ inch.  Each individual panel can be of any length, so we can produce over-size murals, billboards and banners of just about any size.  Our panelized method of production allows for ease of installation, too.

For over-size banners and backdrops, we sew and/or weld successive panels together to produce finished over-size banners of any dimension.  Over-size banners can be of solid vinyl, with or without wind pockets, or printed onto mesh banner material. 

All our over-size graphics are digitally printed, one at a time.  This is a very cost-effective way to produce limited quantities of over-size graphics as the set-up fee is very modest (usually no more than 1-to-2 hours, at $65 per hour) relative to cost of the finished print.  This is why we are seeing more and more large and over-size graphics in a variety of new applications. 

Because we individually process each of your prints, each print can be customized as you wish with no additional charge, so long as you supply us with the appropriate, print-ready art files.  This allows for endless customization and personalization, even on over-size graphics.  And whether one-color or full-color, it’s all the same to us, so don’t be shy when it comes to the use of color.

We can print oversize graphics in any resolution up to 1,440 dpi.  However, because over-size graphics are usually viewed from far away, a print resolution of 100 dpi is usually more than sufficient.  In fact, print resolution for over-size graphics is usually limited by the quality of the original artwork (how will it look when enlarged to over-size proportions?), rather than by any limitations in the printing process.

All Graphitek digital printing is done with solvent-based, UV-resistant, exterior-grade inks for fade-free, long-life graphics.  All our digitally printed graphics can be used outdoors as well as inside, with no fear of fading or water damage.  In most cases we recommend the use of a UV-resistant overlaminate (available in a matte, luster or high-gloss finish) on top of the printed image for additional protection against fading, abrasion and other damage.  With our highest-quality substrates, we can warranty up to 5 years exterior exposure with no color fade.
